Young & Jackson's is a Melbourne institution and, in keeping with tradition, the recent refurbishment maintains the feel and atmosphere of a colonial pub.
Re-opened in March 2001, it is a refreshing departure from the enclosed and hard-to-find bars scattered across town and, though a pot of local beer is a bit steep at $3.45, it remains one of our city's most established watering holes.
Jordan - 18/02/10 A really good place to go after the cricket. I'm 19 and enjoy coming here every year to catch up with the extended family. It caters for the younger and older crowd. 4/5 Miss Kitty - 09/01/10 Only really good for a drink while waiting for the train, not the best and quite expensive. 1/5 tara - 17/07/08 When I first turned 18 I went upstairs to see chloe. Was harassed by bar staff and asked for ID five times by five different staff. They kept dropping hints for us to leave and go to transport over the road. Oh well, I guess their looking for an older, corporate/exclusive crowd. A shame. 2/5 Just Cruisin - 18/04/08 Used to be one the crustiest pubs in Melbourne with some of the most scary clientele, now it's an everyman's pub, catering for no one in particular and probably one of the busiest around because of it's location. Good choice of beers, and bar food is reasonable upstairs. Still a pretty soulless experience and awful choice of background techno music on weekends. 2/5 Rem - 26/04/07 I tend to agree with Ian 3/5 ian - 27/07/06 Ok But you wouldnt spend a whole night here it attempts to be classy despite its location. 2/5
