If you feel like a warm toasted sandwich and a cheap long neck then St Jerome’s is the place to be.

A small (extremely small) bar well hidden in a dingy alley way around the corner from Myer, St Jerome's manages to give off a very chilled-out and friendly vibe.

A laid back café by day that transforms into a grungy, electro bar at night with a DJ area set up out the back. This bar is always packed out on weekends regardless of the weather and is very popular with the younger crowd.

Well worth a drink or two during the week or to start your night off on the weekend.

To Auxxx
-Sorry, but this place closed down almost 2 years ago you dumb bastard.
What am I even doing here? Oh yes, investigating the rumours of a resurrection at a new venue. Ponyfish Island anyone?

been here many a time, staff are funny and cheerful, st j's has a very small almost family and its a wonderful feeling, great coffee great beer great atmosphere but maybe that could do with a mop and bucket for the toilets

I am so sick of people who turn their backs on a good thing because they are afraid they might be conforming to something. Get over yourselves, if u wanna go and hang out in ur garage with ur best two emo buddies because no one knows about it yet, go right ahead, but ST JEROMES ROCKS THE F++K OUT! You know it

I agree it has changed from what it was, but you can still have as much fun if you want to.
Place looks gross but the people are nice.

Lost its former charm, has become a victim of its own success. Bad crowd, bad smell. A parody of its former self. Give this a miss at all costs.

If you like spending your time in a place that smells like garbage then your look is over. As well as the delightful smell there istaf also a narrow selection of drinks rude pretentious staff(funny that they have this ego considering the place smells like trash and has cockroaches crawling all over the walls) Also well known for its Oscar Wilde wannabe crowd with there 16 year old girl freinds. forget get this place its rubbish

I have been here in a suit (ArtZ) it's in the CBD, 000's of work in the city in suits. Get over it. Music is good and loud, beer is cheap and cold, guys at the door have always been great (a genuine rarity) ... My only gripe is the early closing time, seems to have more of a 4am atmosphere than it's 1am closing time suggests

Man, what happened to this place?????

I went back after a year or so of not going, and it was awful.

It was kind of like a tourist bar.

The kind of place you take interstate / overseas friends when you want them to experience the "authentic" Melbourne bar scene....which ofcourse in nothing like this.

Jeromes is to the bar scene what McDonalds is to food dining....a poor example at best

This is the best place i've been to. A laid back, cool place to have the best coffee in the city or to hang out at night with a good looking crowd and awesome tunes. Gold!

This placed jumped the shark atleast a year ago. The crowd is just terrible now, suits, wannabe's etc;
Give this place a miss if you are looking for a cool place to have a drink, this place has became nothing more than a mocking charicatuer of its original self

Cheap beers a def bonus, good perv, always packed especially fri/sat nights ... avoid being stuck near the front - the smell of the garbage in the laneway is unbearable!
