It's not difficult to guess what the decor will be here. Yep, it harks back to decades past. The large padded leather couches are a highlight and are confluent with the Formica tables and '50s chairs. Even the truck permanently parked out the front is straight out of '50's middle America.
The one admission of more modern influences is the glass water wall, a la the National Gallery, at the rear past the open kitchen. The impact of the white-painted floorboards is matched by the bright yellow timber on the walls.
Reflecting Retro's popularity with local families on weekends, a highchair is available for the youngest patrons. A hangout for locals at night, the DIY Bloody Marys are to die for and the couches in the large front windows are perfect for people- watching.
