Looks like mostly management placing reviews to me!! I've been here once and that was enought. I had trouble finishing my drink with that smell, and the shock i got when i saw people eating here! It smelt like s**t, no joke! How is this place allowed to trade?

Mondays rock, the band "Play Doh" go off. Cheap drinks, awesome atmosphere, great place to pull, I can assure you! Good mix of backpackers, students, hospitality staff. Thursdays are ok with an acoustic solo and cheap drinks as well. Saturdays are busy as well with more live entertainment and cheap shots... go the CS cowboys for $5! Good pub food here as well, cheap parmas!!!

Would have to agree with Tash! The joint is a dump and apart from the cheap alcohol, thats about the only thing going for it!

Brilliant pub! Monday nights are just amazing. $3 pints kilkenny and guinness. I went here every monday amazing and easy to pull girls!! Also weekends are excellent with live bands the only thing is you find yourself in here till closing time

I regularly go to Puggs on Friday and Saturday nights. They have a soloist on Friday and a live band on Saturday. Always very busy for live sports events and Saturday nights go off here. Monday backpacker party is an institution in Melbourne, $3 pints!!! Good looking bar staff, cozy booths, great pub!

Great pub with an atmosphere second to none. Saturday nights go off and they have the biggest Monday night in Melbourne. Drink specials every night and if you get there early enough the food is excellent - $6 Parmas on Mondays!! No better venue for watching live sport as they have a big screen and plasmas as well. Friendly staff and management and loads of beers on tap... cant go wrong!

This place has a smell of what only can be discribed as s@#t. And to think people eat here, i couldn't even finish my beer. I think the health inspectors should be called. If you value good health, choose another pub!!!

I'm not a pub person, but last saturday night i went to pugg's with some friend for drinks before heading out. I was left shock, what a great pre-drinks place! Drinks were cheap and a great atmosphere. Seem to be a crowd aged 20-30. Will be making it a regular saturday night stop!!

How anyone can give this place a 5 is beyond me .Only ever been there on a saturday buy certainly dont recomend it. Dancefloor is too small band is terrible and just an all out boring atmosphere may be ok if you wanna sit down and have a few beers but anyone under 30 will not find much too like bout this poor excuse for a pub

If I could give this pub half a point to be generous I would! But I compromised and gave it 1 point... The bouncers are absolute wankers with a PMPD mentality (Pugg Mahones Police Department), If your looking for a real pub definitely give this a miss!

Fantastic! This has been MY Tuesday and Thursday night pub! For the cheap spirits and $5 pints, sometimes i make it for the $7 Parma's and $10 steaks. All round great pub, beautiful atmostphere, a great students pub

great on st pattys day, little to crowded and the cover bad were pretty average. I mean god they wouldnt even let me dance on what they call a stage....u have to be pretty leggless to go here for an entire night good for pre drinks!!!

Pug Mahones has always kept its identity.
The best value 'Youth' pub in Melbourne that has remained solid for well over a decade. Monday’s are the flagship nights where $30 dollars will floor you with more beer than you can imagine. Some of the best security crew you can find and the clientele are so culturally diverse that you may need to carry an atlas as a reference. This venue also has a habit of females exceeding the female/male ratio from time to time - Certainly a night to remember.
