Trashy as hell. The wallpaper's peeling. The carpet is like weak sticky tape. But that aside.
Monday night's are $1 pots and $4.50 jugs.
It's packed and if your not there by around 7:30 you might not even get seats. If you come 8:30 or later, well you can wait 1-2 hours if your keen. Pretty much it's a get there by 6 leave by 11:30 kind've place. You will love it or hate it.

I definately have to say that this bar really could do with a makeover...however $1 pots? I mean come on...how could you go wrong... :P
The crowd I found is friendly, mostly uni students/or just young people hoping to get drunk, which suits me just fine haha.
Overall its 'ok'..not a must see, but if you're in the area on a monday night, not a bad place to drop into and get a cheap drink..

Although the drinks are cheap, the state of this pub is very bad. There are no bouncers guarding the pub. There was a fight outside and the door staff just closed their doors and turned their backs, resulting in one of the guys getting really hurt. So..yes drinks are cheap but do i feel safe there? NO WAY

Very rarely do you find a pub these days with the intimacy that the public bar gives you when watching a live act/band. The stage is surrounded by couches & seats all very close to the stage. Fantasic venue to sit down a have a few while marvelling at the good talent that performs on stage. Prices are good. The people inside are as decent too. No bouncers on a power trip. Very good small cosy venue.

I wouldn't go there if beers were normal prices - i.e. $3.50 a pot, but they're not, they're $1 a pot.
The less people here the better.

awesome place on monday nites. pretty packed. crowd seems to stick 2 themselves til they r drunk, then they get friendly. great monday nites with $1 pots and $4.50 jugs

public bar is pretty much on the corner of victoria and elizabeth near the fish part of the queen vic market not the other end as shown in the picture above. public bar is a must visit especially for the monday night prices!

The Public Bar is a fantastic place though not for the likes of Bob or anyone else who can't string a sentance together. This place has more character than you can shake a stick at!!

this place is pretty awful, the roof and walls look like they will fall down any second, only one type of pub and its tiny. on the plus side, dollar beers till 11 on monday nights and that will bring everyone in. if you like cheap beer, i say go for it, although i cannot stand the place. the staff can be rather unfriendly. All in all, i'd say its miss.
