One of Melbourne's best known gay-friendly establishments, the Peel doesn't really hit its stride until the early hours.
A horseshoe-shaped bar sits in the centre of this renovated pub, but the real focus of the Peel is the dance floor.
Generously sized, for a pub, it never wants for dancers among its podiums, multitude of lights and smoke machine haze.
Around the bar, television screens play digital images while an assortment of neon and fluorescent lights decorate the ceiling and walls.
The back area has stools and ledges for the patrons in need of time out, while the uncluttered area around the bar allows patrons to have a bit of a boogie wherever they feel like it.
A separate room houses a pool table.
Happy hours go through the night on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
