When the Owl and the Pussycat sailed away in their pea-green boat, they would not have needed to take any supplies if this bar was awaiting them.
Located at the base of a Holiday Inn hotel, the Owl and the Pussycat provides a little of everything. A few shelves stock grocery necessities, fridges and wine racks hold take-away liquor and the major newspapers and magazines are kept in the newsagent section.
The wines of the month are displayed on a blackboard in the centre of the little bar area. It also has a restaurant section set in the basement, the entrance to which is guarded by statues of an owl and a pussycat.
Just what inspired the owner to name this bar after Ed Lear's nursery rhyme is unclear but there was no evidence of either mince or slices of quince on the menu.
