It appears a few people at the Napier haven't got over Fitzroy Football Club's demise. The walls are covered in Lions artefacts including team portraits from over the decades and photos of legends such as Hayden Bunton in full flight. A line of miniature jumpers dangles over the bar and there's even a trio of Mambo fish, resplendent in Lions gear, flying up the wall.
An active kitchen puts out a range of decent pub grub. The wine list is pretty decent for a pub, too, with a changing list of around 15 by the glass. This perhaps reflects the young clientele who flock here at night, even early in the week, and on summer's evenings they flood on to the footpath.
A more laid-back room stands across the corridor from the front bar and contains a pool table, well-used leather couches and a framed pair of Y-fronts.
