Fantastic place, dinner tasted great, the prices were really reasonable, and the staff were very friendly! Not to mention the interior design, it was beautiful! Great night thanks guys!!

Ten of us went on Saturday night for tapas and a few bevvys and we were very impressed. The food was incredible and catered very well for the 5 vegetarians in the group. We came away very happy with the food, service and the bill which came to just over $10 per head. I would highly recommend it!

Sorry Gary but I have to disagree with some of what you've said here. I didn't actually visit Monties when it was run by the old owners however i was there last Saturday night just gone and I must say the staff were fabulous. A couple of Strawberry Margarita shots on the house was our arrival welcome then out came a couple of plates of Tapas. We weren't planning on eating there but after tasting their Tapas we ordered a few dishes and the food was exceptional. Also exceptional was our bill amount, it was very reasonable. I'm just about to make a booking to go back with some friends on Saturday night! Definitely worth checking out for a low key dinner and drinks.

Since early June 2007, Monties has been under new management. Gone are the great sculptures and artwork that adorned the floor & walls or hung from the ceiling. The lovely old sofas that lent such character as they sat invitingly in the windows have been replaced by blocky modern leather counterparts. Most of the barstools have been taken away, and a few booths removed to give the space a more open, less intimate atmosphere. Even the potplants are no longer there, with the few remaining creepers already showing signs of not being watered. The staff we encountered on our most recent visit (and probably our last) were pushy and unprofessional, and the once-friendly security staff are now downright scary. Time to move on.
