Luxe is part of an building that has garnered many accolades for its contemporary, multipurpose design (it also contains apartments and offices).
While it operates as a bar, it's very popular for dinner, especially on Fridays and Saturdays. However, by 10.30pm you're pretty assured of getting a table. That's not to say the staff ignore the drinkers. They don't mind if you sit and just have a drink without food at anytime and if the tables are all full, there's a few stools along the wooden bar.
The decor is archetypal ultra-minimalist: the walls are plain concrete, the furniture is simple and unadorned wooden venetian blinds shut out Inkerman Street. All the square yellow tables are exactly the same size, meaning they can be joined and separated to suit any gathering without ruining the aesthetic.
The wine list is very extensive (245 drops on offer) and a changing selection of 23 are available by the glass. It also has a range of half bottles and a changing cocktail speciality.
