In what used to be the Stadium Bar and Grill, the team here have fashioned a very cool cocktail bar.

This long room has quickly pulled a crowd, especially among the younger office workers and university students.

The decor is smooth and cool: behind the long bar a blue light shines down on to a large fishtank while the metallic bar surface and spot lighting give a futuristic appearance.

But, it's the drinks that draw most people. The numerous large couches are waited on by cocktail waitresses and "shooter girls" come around with, well, you can guess what.

The high-spirited patrons often end up boogying on the bar by night's end.

A small mezzanine level, complete with its own bar and collection of lounge furniture, hovers above the room.

The kitchen serves bar snacks well into the night (it goes late on Friday and Saturday nights).

Known to be one of the trahiest places around.
Although if your really pissed and just want a boggie (on the bar even)then this is OK but leave it in the 'last resort' box. The music is too mainstream for me and is inconsistant with the genre. I've only been once and had my arse felt up by way too many sleezy, slimy, ugly men there.

I got excited at one stage in the night when the hot bar staff got up on the bar with a bottle of vodka. I stood there with my mouth wide open
-like a newborn bird- expecting the worst, and all I got was a piddly taster of cheap lolly water crap.

A few more arse grabs and I was gone, never to return again...

Fun & lively, a good place to party late into the night. If you like people watching, then you can dance on the bar. If you need to relax, it's usually ok to get a seat and there is a big screen to watch too. Crowd is young and fun, Top venue.

Icon is an institution in itself and really isn't for the faint-hearted. If you hear somebody announcing something intelligible over a microphone it is probably an announcement that lay backs are about to start, so get your ass to the bar and tip your head back and the bartenders will pour equal parts vodka and lime down your throat. Don't be at all surprised if somebody behind the bar starts juggling fire and lights the entire bar on fire Coyote-Ugly style (although I must add that they did this before the movie was ever released!) Icon is a great place if you are an exhibitionist who likes to dance on bars or if you enjoy dodgy pop music, some retro stuff and a bit of dance as it gets later into the night. It is cheesy and over-the-top, but it doesn't pretend to be anything else and is a great place to party.
