Set in the middle of hectic Bridge Road, the Groove Train is more restaurant than bar.

A bright, warmly colored space, it provides brisk, friendly service to its professional clientele. The front section, which looks on to Bridge Road, has lounge furniture for those not eating at the blonde wood tables.

The designer kept the original shopfront facade, meaning you enter through narrow, period doors to be greeted with a bustling new interior. The back wall is covered with a large, "groovy" mural while the rest of the walls are decorated with cartoons.

Most of its trade is as a restaurant, it specialises in pizzas from a wood-fired oven, but the couches at the front are a comfortable vantage point for those just wanting a drink.
