Nestled between the National Gallery and the Arts centre, Curve Bar is a hidden treasure.
Inside, the interior designer has had free reign creating a bar that harmoniously interacts with the curves of the Arts centre creating a number of small pockets where you can sit back and reflect on the latest show or enjoy chatting with your friends. And, if you want to get amongst the crowd, you can always grab a bite to eat at the welcoming communal eating table.
If you like the outdoors then Curve Bar is definitely for you. Featuring a generous seating area, you will be pleasantly surprised to find a nicely manicured lawn area. During the warmer months it starts to feel like a friends backyard with the outside barbecue cooking and live entertainment. Borrow a blanket from the bar, grab a bottle of rose and chat the night away.
The crowd is a varying mix of after work drinkers not wanting to leave and a transient group of show goers and performers. While Curve Bar does stay busy to the early hours there is little dancing. You can have a private groove but don’t expect to be raving away.
The drinks are prepared with a seasonal focus and special emphasis on fresh ingredients. A nice range of European beers and a good selection of wines ensure you will have something to enjoy with their range of quality light meals.
So if you are looking for Curve Bar it is pretty easy to find, with a very large spire above it you won’t miss this one, you could even say it would be an inspired choice.
