This restaurant/bar, found at the far end of the Brunswick Street, bucks the area's trend by providing a large, light space.
The centre of the room is devoted to cloth-covered tables for dining patrons; drinkers are not, however, hard done by. By far the most attractive furniture on offer are the huge, blue booths that line the right-hand wall.
Big enough to fit a group, yet intimate enough for conversation, they are ideal for drinking. The bar runs along part of the left-hand wall. In front of it stands a bench surrounded with stools, providing an island of drinking space.
The clientele is drawn mainly from professional locals who come for a late-afternoon drink or an evening meal. It is especially popular on weekends, particularly when the jazz ensemble plays on Sunday afternoons.
Chip as Chips - 27/02/07 This is a great bar one of the best, I've come across. 4/5
