With bad music, arrogant and creepy crowd and Melbourne's worst and most dodgy security, this place is perhaps Melbourne's worst club. Charging $20 to enter Melbourne's worst club is hilarious. This is the kind of place the media is referring to when they talk about troubled nightspots and the government raises alcohol and licensing costs to try to discourage.

What's up with the attitude in this place? I have been there with friends from interstate twice, and on both occasions a friend of mine (not the same person) has been evicted for "unruly behaviour". Funny thing is, on both occasions it was a person who is probably the least offensive in our group (first time a guy who doesn't drink, last night a girl who had complained about constantly being felt up) that got evicted, for no apparent reason - security would come up and say "your friend has been told to leave, you can stay if you want". When we asked why (both occasions!) we were told that if we wanted to be difficult then we could leave too. I thought people got evicted for starting fights, being drunk or offensive, etc?
At any rate I'm not taking any friends there again and I'm never going back - it's just not worth the hassle.

worst venue in melbourne by far! first of all $20 entry for a place like this is crap, if you pay $20 you dont expect to be in a place with no standards. theyll let in sleezy old men trying to take home girls half their age. the music is rubbish, the band does the same set every week, the dj is a joke itd be cheaper to get a jukebox he doesnt do anything but but a commercial rnb cd in and press play, then put a commercial house cd and press play, etc. crowns great for movies and restaurants, bars, etc. but stay away from their try hard nightclubs.

The band was fantastic.
Pretty much the only positive thing though.
$20 entry to spend time around mass amounts of skeazy 30-40 year old men looking to take home girls half their age and pathetic women of the same age trying desperately to look like teenagers.
And not fun to have bouncers who're letting so many of the old pervey men in and then pushing groups of young 18/19 year old girls like me and my friends to the front of the queue.

was the worst club i have ever been too, the security were trying to chat up me and my eighteen year old friends, the men inside were sleazy and disgusting. every attempt to grope our asses was made. defs wont go back...

Without a doubt the WORST venue in Melbourne and Ive been to some bad places! Security guys are more interested in lamely attempting to pick up girls half their age whilst ignoring potential troublemakers, a lot of the guys look like they have walked off the set of underbelly! Very sleazy, and the snobberish staff dont much help. People, you pour drinks and take orders off strangers for a living, get a grip!

Tragic, its such a shame that Melbournes hard earned cash keeps ending up in this pathetic hole.

it was better then people think i went on friday night and there is mature woman there but they keep to them selves the music is cool and didnt see many people being harrased so it is better then people think

Its sad that an awesome complex like Crown has never had a good nightspot. One more comment from before, the "dance floor" is not a floor at all - its a mini amphitheatre thats arranged in steps
The night I was there a tipsy girl stepped on the edge of a step, rolled her ankle outwards and fell, probably doing some serious ligament damage.
The security sat there and watched her screaming on the ground...

Terrible music and djs, older and sleazier crowd, nowhere near enough seating, too much sausage, overpriced drinks and very tarty and cranky bar chicks
When asking one of the bar girls about the range of cigars that were behind the bar she threatened to have security onto me for "my tone of voice"...?
Furthermore and completely honestly, I'm a novice bedroom dj that was offered a spot there on a peak saturday night shift. I laughed and walked the other way.
Follow what I did and stay well clear!!!!!!

Avoid like the plague - particularly if you're a chick.
Being new to Melbourne my two sisters and I (all of us between the ages of 18 and 23) went one night. In the two hours that we were there we were approached by (YES! We counted!) 30 separate groups of guys. Despite our emphatic 'get lost, losers' they wouldn't leave us alone, until eventually we realised we'd be having a better night throwing our money away in the Casino.
So don't bother.

The trashiest place I have ever been to! Do not go here. It is filled with sleazy old men and tacky wannabe-whores that think their fat hanging over their too-tight jeans is attractive. There is practically no dress-standard and you get every other culture in there EXCEPT for Australians.
It is no where near worth the $15 you have to pay to get in, I wouldn't even go if it was free and this was the last nightclub on earth. YUCK!

Iiii loved it. If you're into your RnB and Hip hop then this is te best place for it, better music on Thursdays than Lavish on Fri and Publicity on Sat. Bar service ok, the crowd is average, older. Go for yourself and the music :)

This place has a contrived and superficial vibe. The music left a lot to be desired, the lyrics to the rnb songs were generally in poor taste and left me wondering what I was doing in there. Not enough seating and nowhere to be heard above the music. When my friends arrived just after us, the club mysteriously "had a guestlist", so they could not get in.

Older crowd (above 25 generally) on saturday nights. both live band and house, plus a good r and b room. Three bars, and plenty of seating. Not bad
