After a period when it seemed like there was new management each week, the Cherry Tree has found a successful recipe with the current team.
The clean interior now provides a range of options for the mid-to-late 20s crowd that comes here. Very popular among the management of local clothing manufacturers for lunch or dinner (the kitchen is open until 8.30), it is equally successful as a venue in the evening.
DJs play under a conical skylight in the back bar on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights, concurrently to an acoustic performance in the front bar. The music is generally commercial dance, but there are occasional theme nights. Thursday night is aimed at the younger, student crowd with happy hours and the like.
Boo - 13/07/09 This review needs to be updated. As pointed out back in 2005, the place looks totally different now (you can hardly recognise the building in the photo as it's been rendered and painted white). The back room doesn't have music as it's now a restaurant and I've never heard any commercial dance music played here.
Fantastic place to sit in frnot of the fire with good range of beers (tap and bottle) and wines. The house-made sausage rolls rock. 3/5 Konrad - 01/06/05 Place looks completely different now, new management, facelift and custom made furniture a real comfort haven for all not to mention fantastic food at the back bistro. 3/5
