I went here the other dayss for the first time ever. There was a very attractive red head bartender. VERY attractive. Really nice too. Will definately be heading there again.

lol, all of the above (Or below) are correct! Charltons, like Humphrey is a funny old fellow. The patrons tend to be a mix of upper middle to bottom class people looking for a good night. I have been going to this place on and off for about 10 years and have seen many people ejected in the greatest and worst of fashion. I guess it just depends on who's ejecting you and what you've done, although most of the people that have left in 'the hard way' normally mouth off before hand then wonder why they were treated so terribly! (I've seen many of them hehe) lol Karoke has a huge selection and they update every now and then, but often enough. I think I've been paying the same price for drinks there for about 5 years which is good and they have happy hour till 10 or something. Dingy but like your uncle Stan, ever so lovable.

Me and my mates use to go there years ago to play pool and was a top venue then - went back a few years ago for a going away and had a sing along at the karaoke which was fun. Going again tonight to play some pool so will see how its changed if any and post here.
A word to the topless fellow - you missed your venue by 1 floor mate as upstairs u would have found at least 2-3 other topless dancers to mate with. But granted violent patron handling shouldn't be condoned but its everywhere u turn these days not just at this venue.

We went to this place the other week and found out that Manny is indeed hot and quite good in bed... and the other bouncers were pretty hot too. Hygenie and general cleanliness left a lot to be desired but I got some action so I'm not complaining. And they didn't kick me out when I took my top off so I'm not sure about some of the comments below..maybe they just weren't hot enough to stay!

WHAT A WAIST OF SPACE!!! It's places like this that hold back the human race. I cannot believe that the staff of this venue are allowed to discriminate and hurt people as they see fit!! I'm amazed that this foul venue is still exists, and I’m ashamed to say that it exists in beloved Melbourne. There are plenty of amazing bars in this city so DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!

DO NOT GO TO THIS BAR!!! The bouncers are homophobic rednecks.. They kicked my friend out for taking his top off...which he immediately put back on when asked too... they didn't care and got physical and pushed him down the stairs.. they then bagan to strangle another friend and cut his neck (we have some lovely photos of this aresholes).. We were then told to 'fuck off fucking faggots and never come here again'... Please go to this bar if you support this type of thing.... if not..Never go there again, do not support this backward behavior!!!!

If you like getting kicked out of a bar or club, pushed down a flight of stairs and elbowed to the jaw then this is the place for you. I attended this venue on Friday night, enjoyed myself until I was asked to leave for no particular reason. I didn't cause problems, I was just dancing when an "alleged" crowd controller decided that he would take a power trip.

It a pool hall with music...thats bout it...might have been something unique in the 80's when it opened...but in 2007...its less than nothing

We went to Charltons for a going away party and had an awesome time. It was a great venue because it had enough room to have a dance, a place to sit, Karaoke to belt out some tunes, pool & fooze ball tables & two bars. The DJ rocked and it was good to have someone singing some potentially awful Karaoke and then have some music to dance to, which broke up the night. The music Selection was good for Karaoke and also very alternative. A definate 2 Thumbs up!!
