Invite Friends to this bar:
Nestled in Little Collins Street away from the city hustle and bustle, Bridie O'Reilly is an Irish tradition. It is a typical Irish pub; a homely atmosphere, warm (two fireplaces), and inviting.
Pictures of rolling green Irish hills adorn the walls, as do maps of the old country, and various mediaeval looking shields. Of couse, there are heads of stuffed deer and other game on the walls. Bridies is the kind of place to go after a long day out on the hunt. You can relax, have a feed and listen to some nice Irish tunes.
There are three levels: the main bar is on the ground floor; a central winding staircase passes a small dining area on its way to the top level where there is another bar and a bigger dining area.
The kitchen is open for lunch from noon until 2.30; dinner from 6-9. The menu includes the usual pub fare; pies, burgers, fish, chicken, a special traditional Irish breakfast, and the obligatory fries and wedges with gravy. During mealtimes there is no smoking in the eating areas.
The friendly staff are more than happy to pour you a pint of Guinness or a pot of some of the other international and local beers that are on tap.

Jessica - 07/11/08 I had an awesome time. I went with a few work mates and ended up getting free drinks for going in a dance off. Saturday night band was great. 3/5 Sarah - 07/11/08 I have lunch there every now and then. The staff are lovely, they will go out of their way for you. The meals are delicious and very well presented. It's such a cosy comfortable place to go. I definitely recommend it for all ages. 4/5 Xavier Barret - 07/11/07 I went there to drink Harp Lager - apparently a traditional Irish drop. On this particular occasion it was off. No drama, I was a little disappointed but satisfied to have a Stella or something like that. A week later I went with the same keen hop-head as before who also was gasping for a Harp. It was off again ! That did us in; after all, you go to these supposedly authentic bars to sample something besides Carlton and Toohey's. We decamped to a nearby pub and drank some Aussie drop. Good luck if you want the real-deal ! 2/5 Jason - 02/11/07 I made the mistake of ordering a meal here, waited an hour for it even though there were only two other tables of customers. Apparently had a function upstairs but no management came to advise us or offer compensation. Then wrong sauce on the steak, overcooked, rude staff. Im sure its a fine place for a beer but poorly managed. Expected much better :( 1/5 Justin - 23/10/07 Definately has a nice homely feel to it.
Although it's not the place that would get absolutely packed shoulder to shoulder unlike some other irish pubs, this is still a very cozy environment for having a few warm-up drinks and good food. Staff are friendly & very good looking.. espically the little blonde Finnish gal on level 3! Go Bridies!! 4/5 oofez - 16/09/07 Not as much as a Irish Pub but as a pub it is great, good band and great beer selection on tap. Will be back for sure. 3/5 otown - 09/03/07 used to be a decent place..used to be plus bouncers think there cops on a power trip...so dont mess with them coz there soooo hardcore 0/5 Richy D - 27/06/06 This place has a horrible crowd of boof heads and the bouncers are nasty 1/5 Simon B - 15/03/06 ^the esscence of a true oirrish bar is to have people crapping on endlessly, not staring at a wall. do you expect any pub in galway to have a cover band playing bloody 'khe san' with a fighting kangaroo flag waving sing-a-long? 4/5 Freeagent - 28/01/06 What happened to this place? Used to be a good night out with the band upstairs, now its just a place to have dinner and stare at the wall. 1/5
