Olivier - 29/05/09 My bf litterally got kicked out of this place two seconds after exchanging a round of 4 drinks (didn't even have time to hand them out).
When I asked for an explanation the secuity gaurd advised me that he's "too tall".
0/5 Greg - 28/05/09 all bad but i've scored a few dirty rotten's there 0/5 Ellie - 17/03/09 This was a very scary experience. The guys that go there are really dodgy. A group of men that resembled Middle Eastern gangsters approached my friend and I. One grabbed me by the wrist and wouldn’t let go. Security didn’t pick up on it. The only reason they let go was because my boyfriend came to the rescue. One of the other’s in this ‘gang’ grabbed my girlfriend and embrace her… again he didn’t let go until he was tapped on the shoulder by my boyfriend.
On the same night there was another a group of scary looking guys there were on speed. They definitely weren’t drinking alcohol and only had their water bottles with them. These guys eventually were asked to leave. Security (as all of the security members that work at Bridie’s on Sydney road share one brain whilst on duty) were the first to throw a punch at the angry evictee… believe or don’t the overweight, horror head girlfriend started trying to bash security.
Horrible experience. A meat market for all of the slums from the northern suburbs. In fact, all of the security guards are just as sleazy as the crowd!
Go to Brunswick Street guys! Much, much nicer experience.
- Music is good though.
0/5 Shiloh - 23/06/08 Ok, I admit, this place does get VERY repetitive..like everywhere I guess, but if the ones that are saying its crap and to go somewhere else...WHERE?? 3/5 semea - 04/01/08 the only word to describe bridies on a friday night: LAME
and that band play-doh...if u want to hear the same old pub songs and same old sets played over and over again, then this band will rock ur world..plus, you can who the regulars are, they are usually the fat drunk butt-ugly girls who walk around like they own the place talkin to everyone and anyone who could possibly give them free booze and a free lay...
so lame and pathetic im afraid...the whole 3 times ive been...not proud of wasting my nights there... 1/5 robie - 29/09/07
5/5 Catherine & Carmela - 09/08/07 instead of what the other people have said...we have always enjoyed going to bridie orileys fantastic old skool stuff mixed with all the new skool music... love going and reccomend to everyone mwah 5/5 luisa - 30/01/07 there are so many better places to go in melbourne on a friday night...... why oh why do so many settle for bridies? 1/5 Lozz - 12/01/07 I used to like this pub but know I wouldn't go there unless you want your drink spiked. Nasty crowd 0/5 mad - 02/08/06 In Melbourne, this pub is probably the closest you will get to a bad regional town country pub experience. Bad but loud coverbands, ordinary staff, terrible pub food and security staff with an over-inflated sense of self importance. If you want this experience, do yourself a favour and jump on the freeway to see a real bad country pub - or better still go and experience a good one...Ballarat, Bendigo or Sheparton are all only a stones throw away...
1/5 Ian - 27/07/06 Great on Friday nights great crown and coverband Play doh really kno how to entertain 3/5 Victoria - 15/04/06 A real aussie experience and that's coming from an aussie. just watch your drinks if you choose to come and listen to mediocre bands play the same songs you've heard a million times before. 1/5 14/10/05
