It's hard to imagine a busier bar than Blue Train. The sheer number of people that comes through this bar/restaurant boggles the mind.

Aside from the reasonably priced food and efficient service, there are a number of other attractions. For those wanting a more bar-like atmosphere, there are stools along the central bar.

Around the fireplace is a collection of recycled armchairs and couches that seem to suck you into them. But without a doubt, the highlight here is the view. A covered balcony stretches the length of Blue Train and the tables and chairs have a fantastic view over the Yarra towards Flinders Street station.

It's often very busy at night, but if you're happy to have a drink in the lounge-area, the young clientele is shunted through pretty quickly. The set-up here handles large groups very well, with long tables and patient waiters.

The set up is excellent & the view is good.
However as you may have read from the other reviews, long waits for meals and sometimes overcrowded, prices are average too. I suggest going here for lunch when the wait is less & plenty of room to move. This is the first leg of a pub crawl...

An amazing atmosphere that has to be experienced!Good value for money,great ambience as a result of the dim lighting,fantastic balcony looking over the city,definately have to go to this funky place.

It is what it is...the McDonalds of the cafe scene. (yes, a rung above McCafe)
So if you can accept that, the food is ok-ish.
Although, the angle of hiring floor staff because they look cool, rather than have any idea about service has really gotten tired after so many years.

Meals and drinks overpriced- quality marginal. Staff rude. Overcrowded. Long, long wait. If you have to go here (e.g. someone's birthday or a work break-up) suggest another restuarant. If your suggestion is not taken up, fake an illness and randomly phone a friend and a restuarant- you will have a much better night!
