Unlike many St Kilda bars, Bar Corvina exudes a sense of stability and assuredness. It seems to have avoided the trendy, "place-to-be-seen" atmosphere that has taken over at many of St Kilda's other bars.
With 20 wines by the glass and over 200 on the list at reasonable prices, wines are definitely the house specialty and the staff will make sure you choose the right one if wines are not in your field of reference.
The front half of this wine bar/restaurant has dark wooden chairs and tables with a large purple couch to provide basic, unassuming seating.
Time passes slowly here and many of the local patrons linger, whether it's reading magazines from the bookshelves or finishing that leisurely planning meeting. And with such placid surroundings and so many wines to try, why wouldn't you?
